BHA designed a Benihana restaurant in the lower ground floor of a mixed use development in the fashionable Slavin district of Slovakian capital Bratislava and co-ordinated this with the design of the ground floor café also by BHA.  This project presented the challenge of accommodating the restaurant’s constituent parts (reception, bar, open sushi kitchen and Teppanyaki tables) within an historic cellar characterised by massive masonry walls and tiny windows.  This programme was difficult to fit into a highly constrained plan but, as the photographs show, the finished restaurant certainly captures the Benihana look and feel very well.
