Wellington Hotel

by Blue Orchid

2015

The Wellington Hotel was originally designed and constructed as a college for trainee clerics and came into hotel use only in the late twentieth century.  It occupies a corner of Vincent Square in Westminster’s Vincent Square Conservation Area and is a cherished landmark in that setting, with its gothic inspired architectural treatment and prominent chimneys.  BHA is working on a scheme to modernise and extend the building to ensure that this hotel can deliver the facilities and services its guests demand.  This will include a new level of accommodation at roof level and remodelling of the gardens and courtyard and ground floor level.  This will have to be done without damage to the architectural significance of the setting, which is extremely sensitive and fiercely protected by local residents.
