The brief at Arbor City was to create a bright and vibrant restaurant and bar that would serve as hotel breakfast room for guests in the mornings and serve equally well as a street facing restaurant at lunchtime and in the evening. This brief is not easy to answer, as ‘hotel breakfast room’ and ‘restaurant’ are functionally quite different, but BHA has created a space that works for both. The restaurant has been finished and furnished carefully to be suitable for customer comfort and enjoyment at all times of the day. It has its own entrance from the street as well as a direct connection to the hotel main lobby for guests to navigate easily. It takes advantage of a long frontage to Osborn Street, a busy thoroughfare that leads directly to Brick Lane from Whitechapel Road, and is highly visible to potential footfall along this route.
