2015 - In Progress
After presenting to a specially convened selection panel BHA was architect for a successful bid for the hotel site in Cambridge University’s prestigious North West Cambridge urban extension project. A new hotel and serviced apartment building, with numerous ancillary facilities, was to be the centrepiece of this development, so the University was particularly careful to find the right team for this key element. The design is for the central city block in the development and exemplifies the governing urban design principles of the scheme – using perimeter blocks to enclose semi-private courtyard space. The accommodation includes 244 hotel rooms, 67 apartments, 2 restaurants, conference centre, health and wellbeing facilities (including 25m pool) and cinema and totals more than 28,000 sq ft GIA.
