BHA was appointed by Nilkanth Estates Limited to make proposals for a development of a former poor school in Holborn into a mixture of assembly, food and drink and new residential accommodation.  The building is listed at grade II, within the Bloomsbury Conservation Area and adjacent to the Grade II* St George the Martyr Church.  However  only the main street-facing part is of heritage significance, meaning the designers have had more freedom to reconstruct the rear part into apartments.  A new basement and a new upward extension are included in the proposals.  The finished facility will include a public cafe, multi-purpose assembly hall and six one and two bedroom apartments.
